thus if I heard on one occasion the
blessed one was living in raja gaha in
the bamboo grove the squirrel sanctuary
now on that occasion of venerable samee

wanderer potala puta while wandering and
walking for exercise went to the
venerable samee tea and exchange

and amiable talk was finished he sat
down in one side and said two venerable
samee T friend Sam ET i heard and
learned this from the Rekluse gautama
zone lips bodily action is vain verbal
action is vain only mental action is
real and there is that attainment on the
entering in which one does not feel
anything at all do not say so friend but
to a puta do not say so do not
misrepresent the blessed one it is not
good to misrepresent the blessed one the
Brett blessed one would not speak this
bodily action is vain verbal action as
vain only mental action is real but
friend there is that attainment upon
entering which one does not feel
anything at all how long since you've
gone forth friend Sam ET not long friend
three years there now what shall we say
to the or
to the elder baku's when a young Baku
finds the teacher is to be defended thus
friend Sam ed having done an intentional
action by way of body speech and mind
what does one feel having done an
intentional action by way of body speech
or mind one feel suffering friend then
neither approving or disapproving the
venerable to meet these words the
wanderer rose from the seat and departed
soon after wandering if soon after the
wanderer had left venerable samee T went
to the venerable ananda and exchange
greetings with him when this courteous
and amiable talk was finished he sat
down at one side and reported to the
venerable ananda the entire conversation
with the wanderer after he had spoken of
in irbil ananda told him friend sammy t
this conversation should be told to the
blessed one come let us approach the
blessed one and tell him this as the
blessed one explains to us so shall we
bear it in mind yes friend the venerable
samee d replied then the venerable
ananda and the venerable samee t went
together with wood to the blessed one
after paying homage to him they sat down
at one side the venerable ananda
reported to the blessed one the entire
conversation between venerable smiddy
and the wanderer when he had finished
the blessed one told the venerable
Ananda Ananda i do not even recall ever
having seen this wanderer so how could
he have been
there how could there have been this
conversation though the Wanderers
question should have been analyzed
before being answered this misguided man
Sam ET answered in one answered it
one-sidedly when this was said the
venerable who died and said to the
blessed one venerable sir perhaps the
venerable samee T spoke thus referring
to the principal whatever is felt
includes is included in suffering then a
blessed one addressed ananda see ananda
how this misguided men who died in
interferes i knew ananda that this
misguided man who Diane would unduly
interfere right now from the start of
from the start The Wanderer had asked
about three kinds of feeling this
misguided man Sam ed would have answered
The Wanderer rightly if he asked thus he
would have explained friend friend
wanderer having done an internal an
intentional action by way of body speech
or mind whose result is to be felt as
pleasant one feels pleasure having done
an intentional action by way of body
speech or mine whose result is to be
felt as painful one feels pain having
done an intentional action by body
speech or mine whose result is to be
felt as neither painful nor pleasure
feels neither painful nor pleasure but
what are these foolish thoughtless
wanderers of other sex that they could
could understand the two taka does great
exposition of action you should listen
Ananda to the Tatar gotta as he explains
the great exposition of action that took
a long time to get down to it this is
the time Blessed One this is the time
sublime one for the blessed one to
expound the great exposition of action
having heard it from the blessed one
amongst will remember it then listen
Ananda and ten closely to what I shall
say yes venerable sir venerable amount
of replied the blessed one said this
Ananda there are four kinds of persons
to be found existing in the world what
for here some person kills living beings
take it takes what is not given miss
conducts himself and sensual pleasures
speaks falsehood speaks maliciously
speech harshly gossips his covetous he
has a mind of ill will and holds wrong
view on the desolation after after death
he reappears in a state of deprivation
and an unhappy dated destination even in
hell but there is some person kills
living beings takes what is not given
miss conducts himself and sensual
pleasures speaks falsehood speaks
maliciously speaks harshly gossips his
covetous has a mind of ill will and
holds wrong view on the death solution
of the body after death he reappears in
a happy destination even in a heavenly
world hears some person abstains from
killing living beings from taking what
is not given from Miss Conda
10 sensual pleasures from false speech
malicious speech harsh speech from
gossip he is not covetous his mind is
without ill will any holds right view on
the debt solution after a body after
death he reappears in a happy
destination even in a heavenly world but
here's some person abstained from
killing living beings from taking what
is not given from miss conducting and
misconduct in sensual pleasures from
false speech from malicious speech from
harsh speech from gossip he is not
covetous his mind is not filled with
ill-will and he holds the right view on
a dissolution of the body after death he
reappears in a state of deprivation in
an unhappy destination even inhale here
Ananda by means of ardor endeavor
devotion diligence and right attention
some Rekluse or Brahman attains such
concentration of mine collected pneus of
mine when his mind is collected with the
divine I which is purified and surpasses
the human he sees that person who kills
living beings and whole trong view and
sees that person on the desolation of
the body after death he reappeared in
the state of deprivation in an unhappy
destination even in hell he says thus I
indeed there are evil actions there is
the result of misconduct for I saw a
person here killed who killed living
beings and held wrong view and I see
that on the dissolution of the
after death he reappeared in a state of
deprivation he says thus on the death
solution of the body after death
everyone who kills living beings and
hold wrong view appears in a state of
deprivation even in hell those who know
thus know rightly those who think
otherwise are mistaken thus he
obstinately adheres to what he himself
has known seen and discovered insisting
only this is true and anything else is
wrong but here ananda by means of art or
some recluse or Brahman attained such a
collectiveness of mind that when his
mind is collected with a divine eye
which is purified and surpasses a human
he sees that person who kills living
beings and holds wrong view and he sees
that on a debt solution of the body
after death he reappeared in a happy
destination even a heavenly world he
says thus indeed there are no evil
actions there is no result of misconduct
for I saw person here who killed living
beings and held wrong view and I see
that on a Desilu shin of the body after
death he reappeared in a happy
destination even in a heavenly world
thus he says on a Desilu shin of the
body after death everyone who kills
living beings and holds wrong view
appears in a happy destination even in a
heavenly realm those who know thus know
rightly those who think otherwise are
mistaken these are the kind of views
that were very prevalent during
time of the Buddha thus he obstinately
adheres to what he himself has known
seen and discovered insisting only this
is true and anything else is wrong so
you have one guy that says you do these
actions you're going to go to hell
that's it another guy says well there is
no there is no result of this karma
because he did all of these actions and
now he's in a heavenly realm how can
that be
here ananda by means of artur summary
closer brahmin attains such a collected
pneus of mind that when his mind is
collected with the divine eye which is
purified in surpasses a human he sees
that person who abstained from killing
living beings and holds right view and
he sees that on a Desilu shin of the
body after death he reappeared in a
happy destination even in a heavenly
world he says thus indeed there are good
actions there is result of good conduct
for I saw a person here abstains from
killing living beings in held right view
and I see that on the debt solution of
the body after death he reappears and a
happy destination even in a heavenly
world he says thus on the desolation of
the body after death everyone who
abstains from killing living beings and
holds right view appears in a happy
destination that's where that's where
they all get caught they say everybody
because I saw this everybody's like that
that's way it's going to happen
those who know thus know rightly those
who think otherwise are mistaken thus he
abstinent Lee holds to what he himself
has known seen and discovered insisting
only this is true and anything else is
wrong but here ananda by means of artur
some recluse or Brahman attains to such
collectiveness of mind that when his
mind is collected with the divine eye
which is purified and surpasses a human
he sees that person who abstains from
killing living beings and hold right
view and he sees that on a debt solution
of the body after death he reappeared in
a state of deprivation in an unhappy
destination even in hell he says thus
indeed there are no good actions there
is no result of good karma are good
conduct for I saw a person who has
abstained from killing living beings and
held right new and I see that on a
Desilu shin of the body after death is
reappeared in the state of deprivation
even in hell he says thus on the
desolation of the body after death
everyone who abstains from killing
living beings and holds right view
reappears in a state of deprivation even
in hell those who know thus know rightly
those who think otherwise are mistaken
thus he obstinately adheres to what he
himself has known seen and discovered
insisting only this is true and anything
else is wrong there in Ananda when a
recluse or Brahman says indeed there are
evil action
there is result of misconduct I grant
him this when he says I saw a person who
killed living beings and held wrong view
and I see that on a dissolution of the
body after death he reappeared in a
state of deprivation even in hell I also
grant him this but when he says on the
dissolution of the body after death
everyone who kills living beings and
holds wrong view reappears in a state of
deprivation even in hell I do not grant
him this when he says those who know
thus know rightly those who think
otherwise are mistaken I do not grant
him this when he is obstinately adheres
to what he himself has known seen and
discovered insisting only this is true
and anything is wrong I also do not
grant him this why is that because
Ananda the target is knowledge of the
great exposition of action is otherwise
they're in Ananda winner Rekluse where
Brahman says indeed there are no evil
actions there's no result of misconduct
I do not grant him this when he says I
saw a person who killed living beings
and held wrong view and I see that on
the death solution of the body after
death he reappears in a happy
destination even in a heavenly realm I
grant him this but when he says on the
death solution of the body after death
everyone who kills living beings and
holds that wrong view appears in a happy
destination
in a heavenly world I do not grant him
this and when he says those who know
thus rightly those who think otherwise
are mistaken I do not grant him this and
when he obstinately adheres to what he
himself has known scene and discover
insisting only this is true and anything
else is wrong I also do not grant him
this why is that because Ananda the to
target is knowledge of the great
exposition of action is otherwise
they're in Ananda when a recluse or
Brahman says indeed there are good
actions there is result of good conduct
I grant him this and when he says I saw
a person who abstained from killing
living beings and held right view and I
saw that on the death solution of the
body after death he reappeared in the
happy destination even in a heavenly
world I also grant him this but when he
says on the Des Aleutian of the body
after bet death everyone who abstained
from killing living beings and holds
right view reappears and happy
destination even in the heavenly world I
do not grant him this and when he says
those who know thus know rightly those
who think otherwise are mistaken I do
not grant him this and when he
obstinately adheres to what he himself
has known seen and discovered insisting
only this is true and anything else is
wrong I do not grant him this why is
that because Ananda the to target as'
knowledge of the great exposition of
action is otherwise
they're in when a recluse or Brahman
says indeed there are no good actions
there is no good no result of Good
Conduct I I do not grant him this when
he says I saw people I saw a person who
abstained from killing living beings in
held right view and I see on the death
solution of the body after death he has
reappeared in a state of deprivation
even in hell I grant him that but when
he says on the dissolution of the body
after death everyone who abstains from
killing living beings and holds right
view appears in a state of deprivation
even in hell I do not grant him this and
when he says those who do not know
rightly those who think otherwise are
mistaken I do not grant him this when he
obstinately adheres to what he himself
has known seen and discovered insisting
only this is true and anything else is
wrong I do not grant him this why is
that because an under the two toccatas
knowledge of the great exposition of
action as otherwise there in a non as a
person who kills living beings and holds
wrong view on the dissolution of the
body after death reappears in a state of
deprivation even in hell either he
earlier did an evil action to be felt as
painful or later he did an evil action
to be felt as painful or at the time of
death he acquired and undertook wrong
view because of that on the dissolution
of the body after death he is
reappeared in a state of deprivation
even in hell and since he has has here
killed living beings and holds wrong
view he will experience the result
either here and now or in the next
rebirth or in sub sub sub subsequent
existence so it doesn't have to come
back at tree immediately it can come
back at you it's like that the guy that
was the executioner for 50 years he cut
off people's head he was reborn in a
heavenly realm because he had a lot of
joy when he gave sorry boo to some some
food it doesn't mean that he's not going
to suffer some time in the future that
karma of killing also many people will
come back at him but you don't know when
it's going to come back that's the thing
and if you say only this is true and
everything else is wrong you don't know
how the karma is going to unfold there
in Ananda as to the person who kills
living beings and holds wrong view on
the debt solution of the body after
death reappears in a happy destination
either earlier he did good action to be
felt as pleasant or later he did good
action to be felt as pleasant or at the
time of death he acquired and undertook
right view because of that on the
dissolution of the body after death he
has reappeared in a happy destination
even in the heavenly world but since he
has killed living beings and held wrong
view he will experience the result of
ease
of that either here and now or in his
next rebirth or in sub subsequent
existence there in ananda as to the
person here who abstains from killing
living beings holding right view and on
the debt solution of the body after
death reappears in a happy destination
either earlier he did good action to be
felt as pleasant or later he did good
action to be felt as pleasant or at the
time of death he acquired and undertook
great view because of that on the
desolation of the body after death he
reappeared in a happy destination even
in a heavenly world since he has
abstained from killing living beings and
held right view he will experience the
result of that either here and now or
and as next rebirth or in sub subsequent
existence there in ananda as to a person
who abstains from killing beings and
holds right view on the dissolution of
the body after death reappears in a
state of deprivation either he earlier
he did an evil action to be felt as
painful or later he did an evil action
to be felt as painful or at the time of
the death he acquired and undertook
wrong view because of that on the
dissolution of the body after death he
has reappeared in the state of
deprivation even in hell but since he
has abstained from killing living beings
and held right view he will experience
the result either here and now or in his
next rebirth or in some subsequent
existence thus ananda there is action
that is incapable and n appears
incapable
there is actions that is incapable and
appears capable there is action that is
capable and appears capable and there is
action that is capable and as appears
incapable that is what the Blessed One
said the venerable Ananda was satisfied
and delighted in the Blessed ones words
so this is something to keep in mind so
two monks there are these five courses
of speech here in monks you should train
thus wait a minute their speech may be
either timely or untimely true or untrue
gentle or harsh connected with good or
with harm spoken with the mind of loving
kindness or with inner hate when others
address you their speech may be timely
or untimely when others address you
their speech may be true or untrue when
others address you their speech may be
gentle or harsh when others address you
their speech may be connected with good
or with harm when others address you
their speech may be spoken with a mind
of loving kindness or with inner hate
here in monks you should train thus our
minds will remain unaffected and we
shall utter no evil words we shall abide
compassionate for their welfare with a
mind of loving kindness without internet
we shall abide pervading that person
with a mind imbued with loving kindness
starting with him we shall abide
pervading the all-encompassing world
with a mind the abundant exalted
immeasurable without hostility and
without ill will that is how you should
train even if bandits were to sever you
savagely limb by limb with
two-handed saw he who gave rise to a
mind of hate towards them would not be
carrying out my teaching here in moncks
you should train thus our minds will
remain unaffected and we shall utter no
evil words we shall abide compassionate
for their welfare with a mind of
loving-kindness without inner hate we
shall abide pervading them with a mind
imbued with loving kindness starting
with them we shall abide pervading the
all-encompassing world with a mind
imbued with loving kindness abundant
exalted and miserable without hostility
and without ill will that is how you
should train monks if you keep this
advice on simile of the saw constantly
in mind do you see any course of speech
trivial or gross that you could not
endure no venerable sir therefore monks
you should keep this advice on the
simile of the saw constantly in mind
that will lead to your welfare and
happiness for a long time so the whole
thing with both of these souta's is that
you never know when your when evil karma
or bad karma is going to come in version
this was very apparent with venerable
mogul Anna he was second to the Buddha
and psychic abilities he lived up on
vultures peak and he would go down to
every day to his arms around and there
were some somebody paid some bandits to
go up and kill him but he would see them
coming and he would use his psychic
ability and he would fly down the hill
and they could never catch him but one
day he saw them coming and his psychic
ability left him and these guys got
ahold of him and they pretty much
tortured him and they said that there
was no bone in his body left bigger than
a grain of rice Oh while he was being
thrashed and beaten he got into the
cessation of perception feeling
unconsciousness so he didn't feel it
he started reflecting on why this
happened to him and he remembered that
in a past life time he had a blind
mother and father and he had to take
care of them and his wife got real tired
of taking care of him care of his folks
and she finally talked him into going
out and killing them so he loaded him
into a wagon then he went out of ways
and he made sounds like somebody was
running up to them and he changed his
voice and made it a lot of cursing and
that sort of thing and made sounds like
he was really getting hurt and his blind
mother and father what they did was they
told they kept yelling out that he
should run away it didn't matter what
happened to that he should run away and
they he started beating them with sticks
and stones and stuff like that and as he
kept hearing them yelled to their son to
get away he started feeling kind of
guilty but he'd beaten them so badly
that when he stopped and tried to give
them some comfort they died as a result
he was beaten up pretty badly but this
was a lot of lifetimes ago you never
know when it's going to come now he was
in Arad he didn't have any attachments
at all and this still came back and got
him because
of past action so what what happened was
after they left him for dead he got out
of the cessation of perception feeling
in consciousness and the psychic
abilities came back and he flew to the
Buddha and paid homage to Buddha and
thank them for all the day had done and
he went off and died by himself so the
thing is everybody has these ideas of
theirs immediate retribution for your
actions and sometimes there is and
sometimes there isn't so you never know
what kind of karma is going to come back
whether it's good better and different
it can come back at any time
interesting suta so there is no
predicting I mean you as a monkey all
right there probably has a good karma
they gave a lot and that sort of thing
and they will get good results at some
point where they're reborn sometimes you
can tell and sometimes you can then
there was a guy that became very famous
because somebody would bring him a skull
and he could tap the skull and see what
what realm he was in you've heard this
one before so the Buddha wanted to fool
him and he gave him the skull of an are
hot and he tapped on it couldn't tell
tapped on it again still couldn't tell
he said I have no idea where this is
read this guy is reborn so the Buddha
told him he was an are hot and he told
the guy that if he wanted to become a
monk that he would have the same
destination so he became a monk and
eventually became in our hot
but that's how the Buddha tricked them
into doing it
good fun
may suffering ones be suffering free of
the fear strut fearless be may the
grieving should all grief and may all
beings find relief may all beings you're
the spirit that we've thus acquired for
the acquisition of all kinds of
happiness may beings inhabiting space
and earth Davis and I as a mighty power
share this Meredith horse may they long
protect the Buddhist dispensation
thus if I heard on one occasion the

abstinent Lee holds to what he himself
has known seen and discovered insisting
only this is true and anything else is
wrong but here ananda by means of artur
some recluse or Brahman attains to such
collectiveness of mind that when his
mind is collected with the divine eye
which is purified and surpasses a human
he sees that person who abstains from
killing living beings and hold right
view and he sees that on a debt solution
of the body after death he reappeared in
a state of deprivation in an unhappy
destination even in hell he says thus
indeed there are no good actions there
is no result of good karma are good
conduct for I saw a person who has
abstained from killing living beings and
held right new and I see that on a
Desilu shin of the body after death is
reappeared in the state of deprivation
even in hell he says thus on the
desolation of the body after death
everyone who abstains from killing
living beings and holds right view
reappears in a state of deprivation even
in hell those who know thus know rightly
those who think otherwise are mistaken
thus he obstinately adheres to what he
himself has known seen and discovered
insisting only this is true and anything
else is wrong there in Ananda when a
recluse or Brahman says indeed there are
evil action
there is result of misconduct I grant
him this when he says I saw a person who
killed living beings and held wrong view
and I see that on a dissolution of the
body after death he reappeared in a
state of deprivation even in hell I also
grant him this but when he says on the
dissolution of the body after death
everyone who kills living beings and
holds wrong view reappears in a state of
deprivation even in hell I do not grant
him this when he says those who know
thus know rightly those who think
otherwise are mistaken I do not grant
him this when he is obstinately adheres
to what he himself has known seen and
discovered insisting only this is true
and anything is wrong I also do not
grant him this why is that because
Ananda the target is knowledge of the
great exposition of action is otherwise
they're in Ananda winner Rekluse where
Brahman says indeed there are no evil
actions there's no result of misconduct
I do not grant him this when he says I
saw a person who killed living beings
and held wrong view and I see that on
the death solution of the body after
death he reappears in a happy
destination even in a heavenly realm I
grant him this but when he says on the
death solution of the body after death
everyone who kills living beings and
holds that wrong view appears in a happy
destination
in a heavenly world I do not grant him
this and when he says those who know
thus rightly those who think otherwise
are mistaken I do not grant him this and
when he obstinately adheres to what he
himself has known scene and discover
insisting only this is true and anything
else is wrong I also do not grant him
this why is that because Ananda the to
target is knowledge of the great
exposition of action is otherwise
they're in Ananda when a recluse or
Brahman says indeed there are good
actions there is result of good conduct
I grant him this and when he says I saw
a person who abstained from killing
living beings and held right view and I
saw that on the death solution of the
body after death he reappeared in the
happy destination even in a heavenly
world I also grant him this but when he
says on the Des Aleutian of the body
after bet death everyone who abstained
from killing living beings and holds
right view reappears and happy
destination even in the heavenly world I
do not grant him this and when he says
those who know thus know rightly those
who think otherwise are mistaken I do
not grant him this and when he
obstinately adheres to what he himself
has known seen and discovered insisting
only this is true and anything else is
wrong I do not grant him this why is
that because Ananda the to target as'
knowledge of the great exposition of
action is otherwise
they're in when a recluse or Brahman
says indeed there are no good actions
there is no good no result of Good
Conduct I I do not grant him this when
he says I saw people I saw a person who
abstained from killing living beings in
held right view and I see on the death
solution of the body after death he has
reappeared in a state of deprivation
even in hell I grant him that but when
he says on the dissolution of the body
after death everyone who abstains from
killing living beings and holds right
view appears in a state of deprivation
even in hell I do not grant him this and
when he says those who do not know
rightly those who think otherwise are
mistaken I do not grant him this when he
obstinately adheres to what he himself
has known seen and discovered insisting
only this is true and anything else is
wrong I do not grant him this why is
that because an under the two toccatas
knowledge of the great exposition of
action as otherwise there in a non as a
person who kills living beings and holds
wrong view on the dissolution of the
body after death reappears in a state of
deprivation even in hell either he
earlier did an evil action to be felt as
painful or later he did an evil action
to be felt as painful or at the time of
death he acquired and undertook wrong
view because of that on the dissolution
of the body after death he is
reappeared in a state of deprivation
even in hell and since he has has here
killed living beings and holds wrong
view he will experience the result
either here and now or in the next
rebirth or in sub sub sub subsequent
existence so it doesn't have to come
back at tree immediately it can come
back at you it's like that the guy that
was the executioner for 50 years he cut
off people's head he was reborn in a
heavenly realm because he had a lot of
joy when he gave sorry boo to some some
food it doesn't mean that he's not going
to suffer some time in the future that
karma of killing also many people will
come back at him but you don't know when
it's going to come back that's the thing
and if you say only this is true and
everything else is wrong you don't know
how the karma is going to unfold there
in Ananda as to the person who kills
living beings and holds wrong view on
the debt solution of the body after
death reappears in a happy destination
either earlier he did good action to be
felt as pleasant or later he did good
action to be felt as pleasant or at the
time of death he acquired and undertook
right view because of that on the
dissolution of the body after death he
has reappeared in a happy destination
even in the heavenly world but since he
has killed living beings and held wrong
view he will experience the result of
ease
of that either here and now or in his
next rebirth or in sub subsequent
existence there in ananda as to the
person here who abstains from killing
living beings holding right view and on
the debt solution of the body after
death reappears in a happy destination
either earlier he did good action to be
felt as pleasant or later he did good
action to be felt as pleasant or at the
time of death he acquired and undertook
great view because of that on the
desolation of the body after death he
reappeared in a happy destination even
in a heavenly world since he has
abstained from killing living beings and
held right view he will experience the
result of that either here and now or
and as next rebirth or in sub subsequent
existence there in ananda as to a person
who abstains from killing beings and
holds right view on the dissolution of
the body after death reappears in a
state of deprivation either he earlier
he did an evil action to be felt as
painful or later he did an evil action
to be felt as painful or at the time of
the death he acquired and undertook
wrong view because of that on the
dissolution of the body after death he
has reappeared in the state of
deprivation even in hell but since he
has abstained from killing living beings
and held right view he will experience
the result either here and now or in his
next rebirth or in some subsequent
existence thus ananda there is action
that is incapable and n appears
incapable
there is actions that is incapable and
appears capable there is action that is
capable and appears capable and there is
action that is capable and as appears
incapable that is what the Blessed One
said the venerable Ananda was satisfied
and delighted in the Blessed ones words
so this is something to keep in mind so
two monks there are these five courses
of speech here in monks you should train
thus wait a minute their speech may be
either timely or untimely true or untrue
gentle or harsh connected with good or
with harm spoken with the mind of loving
kindness or with inner hate when others
address you their speech may be timely
or untimely when others address you
their speech may be true or untrue when
others address you their speech may be
gentle or harsh when others address you
their speech may be connected with good
or with harm when others address you
their speech may be spoken with a mind
of loving kindness or with inner hate
here in monks you should train thus our
minds will remain unaffected and we
shall utter no evil words we shall abide
compassionate for their welfare with a
mind of loving kindness without internet
we shall abide pervading that person
with a mind imbued with loving kindness
starting with him we shall abide
pervading the all-encompassing world
with a mind the abundant exalted
immeasurable without hostility and
without ill will that is how you should
train even if bandits were to sever you
savagely limb by limb with
two-handed saw he who gave rise to a
mind of hate towards them would not be
carrying out my teaching here in moncks
you should train thus our minds will
remain unaffected and we shall utter no
evil words we shall abide compassionate
for their welfare with a mind of
loving-kindness without inner hate we
shall abide pervading them with a mind
imbued with loving kindness starting
with them we shall abide pervading the
all-encompassing world with a mind
imbued with loving kindness abundant
exalted and miserable without hostility
and without ill will that is how you
should train monks if you keep this
advice on simile of the saw constantly
in mind do you see any course of speech
trivial or gross that you could not
endure no venerable sir therefore monks
you should keep this advice on the
simile of the saw constantly in mind
that will lead to your welfare and
happiness for a long time so the whole
thing with both of these souta's is that
you never know when your when evil karma
or bad karma is going to come in version
this was very apparent with venerable
mogul Anna he was second to the Buddha
and psychic abilities he lived up on
vultures peak and he would go down to
every day to his arms around and there
were some somebody paid some bandits to
go up and kill him but he would see them
coming and he would use his psychic
ability and he would fly down the hill
and they could never catch him but one
day he saw them coming and his psychic
ability left him and these guys got
ahold of him and they pretty much
tortured him and they said that there
was no bone in his body left bigger than
a grain of rice Oh while he was being
thrashed and beaten he got into the
cessation of perception feeling
unconsciousness so he didn't feel it
he started reflecting on why this
happened to him and he remembered that
in a past life time he had a blind
mother and father and he had to take
care of them and his wife got real tired
of taking care of him care of his folks
and she finally talked him into going
out and killing them so he loaded him
into a wagon then he went out of ways
and he made sounds like somebody was
running up to them and he changed his
voice and made it a lot of cursing and
that sort of thing and made sounds like
he was really getting hurt and his blind
mother and father what they did was they
told they kept yelling out that he
should run away it didn't matter what
happened to that he should run away and
they he started beating them with sticks
and stones and stuff like that and as he
kept hearing them yelled to their son to
get away he started feeling kind of
guilty but he'd beaten them so badly
that when he stopped and tried to give
them some comfort they died as a result
he was beaten up pretty badly but this
was a lot of lifetimes ago you never
know when it's going to come now he was
in Arad he didn't have any attachments
at all and this still came back and got
him because
of past action so what what happened was
after they left him for dead he got out
of the cessation of perception feeling
in consciousness and the psychic
abilities came back and he flew to the
Buddha and paid homage to Buddha and
thank them for all the day had done and
he went off and died by himself so the
thing is everybody has these ideas of
theirs immediate retribution for your
actions and sometimes there is and
sometimes there isn't so you never know
what kind of karma is going to come back
whether it's good better and different
it can come back at any time
interesting suta so there is no
predicting I mean you as a monkey all
right there probably has a good karma
they gave a lot and that sort of thing
and they will get good results at some
point where they're reborn sometimes you
can tell and sometimes you can then
there was a guy that became very famous
because somebody would bring him a skull
and he could tap the skull and see what
what realm he was in you've heard this
one before so the Buddha wanted to fool
him and he gave him the skull of an are
hot and he tapped on it couldn't tell
tapped on it again still couldn't tell
he said I have no idea where this is
read this guy is reborn so the Buddha
told him he was an are hot and he told
the guy that if he wanted to become a
monk that he would have the same
destination so he became a monk and
eventually became in our hot
but that's how the Buddha tricked them
into doing it
good fun
may suffering ones be suffering free of
the fear strut fearless be may the
grieving should all grief and may all
beings find relief may all beings you're
the spirit that we've thus acquired for
the acquisition of all kinds of
happiness may beings inhabiting space
and earth Davis and I as a mighty power
share this Meredith horse may they long
